Video Blog #6

Yikes, its been a while since we've posted here, sorry folks! Not to worry, big backlog of stuff to come up over the next few days. Lets start with some videos...

Best Coast - When I'm With You
This great track from California's Best Coast has been knocking around the blogs for a while, but deserves a mention as they've just announced details of their debut album. Crazy For You will be released in late July with Mexican Summer and looks like this:
Turns out this single is only going to be a bonus track, but with the strength of 'When I'm With You', the rest of the album should be pretty sweet. More details & full track list on Pitchfork.

*Update - UK release with Witchita Records - out 2nd August*

The Federals - Aint Got Nothing To Lose
Awesome new single from old-Yorkers The Federals, released June
27th. Catch them at Glastonbury on the 25th too on the BBC
Introducing Stage.

Paul Thomas Saunders - Starless State of The Moonless Barrow
Paul's songs all have such great names. Starless State of The Moonless Barrow, Death of A Sports Personality, Getting Loose With The Obtuse, and Dementia, Depression, Psychosis, Blues which is featured on Dead Young Records' latest release, the Dead Young Club Volume 2. This is a live video from his EP launch back in February. There are only a
handful of these excellent wax sealed EPs left on CD, here's what they
look like:

Separado!
This is the trailer for the new film from Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys. Described as "Star Trek meets Buena Vista Social Club in a psychedelic western musical", it documents Gruff's search for his long lost Patagonian uncle, the poncho wearing guitarist Rene Griffiths. It sounds absolutely incredible, and I'm not just saying that because I love SFAs, or most things Welsh... honest.

Teenagers In Tokyo - Peter Pan
These lovely Aussie ladies (plus Rudy) rocked our all dayer at the end of May, this is my favourite song of theirs. Their excellent debut LP
Sacrifice is out now on Back Yard Records.

Ace DIY video from the boyos which we've not shared on the blog yet.
This track 1268 is featured on Dead Young Records' latest release, Dead Young Club Volume 2. Here's a clip from their performance on the BBC Introducing Stage at
Radio 1s Big Weekend in their hometown of Bangor:

And finally I'd like to give a few shout outs to bands we've featured on
the video blogs already:

'Greyhounds' by Masters In France is released tomorrow, and is currently Huw Stephen's song of the week on Radio 1. Check out the video on a previous post here. And today is the last day you can download The
Lucid Dream's Erbistock Mill EP for free here. The CDs are sold out too, so don't hang about!

P.S. best wishes to Mark who goes into hospital for an 'op this week.
